Community Watch

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is pleased to announce its new cyberspace Neighbourhood Watch. Named Greater Sudbury Community Watch, the program takes our municipality into the 21st century and into every home.
Preventing and reducing crime is not only the responsibility of the police but of each citizen. By working together we can make our community a safe place in which to live.

Citizens may now check how their neighbourhood is doing by visiting our Community Watch Hot Spots Map. By signing up for Community Watch Alert Bulletin, residents will be able to receive Alert Bulletins warning them of any rash of crimes being committed in their area. Alert Bulletins can be sent to you via e-mail or byphone. You can help to increase the safety of your home and neighbourhood through proper attention to home security and protection.

Reduce the likelihood of your home being burgled by checking your security. Think about the impression a burglar would get if they looked at your house. The more obstacle that you put in the way of a burglar the better.By performing a security audit on you home, you can reduce and discourage unlawful residence entries.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is dedicated to enhancing public safety and reducing the fear and the incidence of crime. But there are many things each and every community member can do to reduce his or her chances of becoming a victim.

Sign up now to receive the Alert Bulletins. Perform a security audit on your home or apartment. Learn what to do if you spot a suspicious person or vehicle. Make Crime Prevention a part of your daily life and enjoy the comfort of your own home.
